Rafael Nadal will have to wait another year to face Roger Federer on clay
RAFAEL NADAL has claimed that Roger Federer does not play during the clay-court season because he loses his “winning dynamic.”
Nadal continued his magnificent form on clay as he won the Barcelona Open at the weekend.
During his straight-sets final victory against Stefano Tsitsipas, the world No 1 took his consecutive set wins on dirt up to 46.
But the one major absence during this part of the season is that Roger Federer chooses to rest ahead of Wimbledon.
Nadal was hoping to face his arch-rival at the Madrid Masters next week but the world No 2 decided not to play – a decision which disappoints the Spaniard but is completely understandable.
